With a run-time of 8 hours on full-brightness, the BrightFlex is Mighty Bright’s top choice for musicians. The single clip is designed for both music stands and books. The tradeoff means that on many music stands, the light has difficulty staying vertical. However on the classic Manhasset music stand, the battery pack lodges securely between the stand’s metal “wings”, providing good stability for the light. The USB battery pack is detachable from the light and both the battery pack and light can be used independently. The battery pack can power another USB device instead and the light can be plugged into any other USB power source. Since the music stand clip is part of the battery pack, it lacks a way to attach it to a music stand when powered this way, but it could still be helpful in an emergency. A generous and surprisingly thick 13-foot charging cord is included with the light. No USB charger is included with the light, so you’ll need to provide your own. Although not among the brightest lights we’ve tested, the BrightFlex is a solid performer for its compact size and charging features.
