Aria Forte
The rechargeable Aria Forte balances battery life, brightness, and even page coverage in one amazing, albeit pricey, package. It has several helpful features, including a full-range dimmer, constant brightness to the end of the battery, a visual battery gauge, a powder-coated aluminum case (similar to a Manhasset stand), and a pleasant warm white light color. The most significant upgrade over their earlier Aria Brio model is the battery life, with the Lithium Polymer battery. In our tests, the Forte ran an incredible 8 hours 43 minutes on full brightness. We tried to reproduce their claim of 36 hours on half brightness, but after 50 hours the light was still going strong. Like the Lotus Design Pro 14, the light includes a small USB charger and a long cord, which could be useful in a pinch to charge while driving to a gig or in an airport. Unlike the former Aria Brio, this light charges rapidly, with a 9-hour recharge time from empty, and can charge when in use. Our measurements show this light just slightly brighter than the plug-in Aria Diva model, but it’s not likely you’d notice. The 14-inch-wide Forte does not fold up, so the optional soft carrying bag (with a strap for one-hand carrying) is recommended for gigs.
