This wall-powered light has been one of the two standard music lights for musicians for decades. With a recent design update, there is now plenty of clearance for tall parts or music folders to turn beneath the light. Unlike its competitor’s light, however, the elegant cylindrical design limits the amount of light from the 40-watt incandescent bulb that is reflected back to the page. Therefore this light turns in a meager 137 lux of light at the bottom of the page, even though the top of the page is well illuminated. The rotary switch on the side gives a reassuring click when the light is turned off, and is easy to reach. The lightweight aluminum is durable and the two clips provide a sturdy mounting on most solid-desk stands.
